The Heart Behind the [IN] Initiative

What if every person at Christ The Rock lived life fully invested in Christ,
fully committed to showing the world what His Kingdom looks like?
What if our church was transformed so that we truly “whether in word
or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus”?

Our World

The heartbeat of Christ The Rock has always been “going where the people are with what the people need.” That is true both in our Fox Valley community, and around the globe. We plan to increase our existing commitment to Kingdom work with our current missions partners, and extend our work by partnering with ministries in Sierra Leone, southeast Asia, and Alaska

Our Neighborhood

We will serve our community in new ways by improving our grounds and land to welcome our neighbors to our campus, expanding our Christcentered counseling to more of our community, and better equipping our church building as a tool for outreach to youth and guests.
Since moving into our current location 14 years ago, we haven’t made any major changes to the building. These changes will provide middle and high school students with dedicated spaces – something we’ve never had for them – and provide much-needed updates to children’s classrooms. Changes to the lobby area will allow more opportunities for relationshipbuilding. When people attend Sunday services, Celebrate Recovery, Moms INC. and other offerings, they will be able to stay for coffee or a meal, take time for conversation while their children play nearby, and have a place that’s designed to be welcoming for unchurched friends.

Our Family

We will continue supporting the ways God is already working through Christ The Rock, offering worship services and Biblical teaching, serving our church body and community through a wide range of ministries and outreaches, training missionaries to bring the Gospel to the nations, and teaching upcoming generations of children and youth about Christ.

One Fund Approach

What is a “one fund” approach to giving? Many members and attenders will remember special funding campaigns that entailed a gift in addition to your usual gifts or tithe. For example, Side By Side resulted in our current building being built; Imagine reduced our building mortgage; and Faith Promise increased our commitment and giving toward missions. These efforts were good to increase giving from mostly existing givers, but this type of giving is potentially confusing to people who are new to giving. Additionally, we would like to reinforce the idea that all our gifts go toward a single Christ The Rock vision: that all people, no matter their condition, would come to know, follow and worship Jesus.

With [IN], we are shifting from general giving plus “special” funds, to all gifts going to one fund. That one fund will cover our usual two-year operating budget for our church family, as well as expanded or new projects that make an impact for Jesus in our neighborhood and in our world.

A “one fund” approach to giving is a reminder that every dollar given to Kingdom work is missional – from the discipleship of our children in Son Harbor to the reconciliation of marriages through our Lay Counseling ministry, to the funding of mission efforts locally and around the globe. Gifts that support ministry areas of the church community (student ministries, classes, meeting spaces, building needs and more) help disciple strong believers who become the people who are sent out locally and globally to share the Gospel of Jesus.
